Every couple who plans their wedding, runs into difficulties, but Einat & Matan’s wedding organization was particularly complicated because it took place during the military operation “Tzuk Eitan” in Gaza. In between the missile alarms they found themselves decorating flower jars, collecting wood and pine cones and slowly build their own dream wedding.
Einat and Matan lived all their lives within a 5-minute walk from each other, but met only during the military at a mutual friend’s wedding and after a few years of traveling the country they decided to buy an engagement ring together and get married. With a strong connection to the city of Be’er Sheva, the Desert landscape they chose to get married in “Bereshit” (mound Be’er Sheva) a Place that combines nature and desert, on one hand, and the elegance of a banquet hall on the other.
The timing of the wedding was perfect. Just the day before a ceasefire was announced allowing to them to get married at a quieter time. The choice of the wedding day was symbolic – Tu B’Av, the day of reconciliation and love.
We met Einat for the wedding preparations at her parents’ house in Be’er Sheva, the house was decorated with paper hearts in honor of Tu B’Av. While Einat was surrounded in the family and close friends every moment had a great feeling of home. The makeup artist, Hen Zarom, took care of the makeup and hair with a gentle style that matched the style of Einat, and a flower comb in the hair of “Fun flower” completed her look.
Although the wedding was all traditional and religious nature, they decided to be have a pre-wedding shoot. It was very important for us to connect the personal story of Einat and Matan and photograph them in places that symbolize their relationship. Like their neighborhood Park that holds their best moments. Then we continued to the Smilanski street and the “Lola” bar in which they had one of their first dates; and then we finished at the Negev Brigade Memorial.
All the wedding design was made by the couple and their relatives, at the entrance they placed a wooden guidance Board, a stance full of pictures from their relationship built entirely by Matan. The table Centers was decorated in jars with flowers and at the entrance they placed flower arrangement stand giving the reception a light and fun atmosphere.
The wedding ceremony was intense and amazing, they chose to do it in a traditional way as Einat sat in a chair surrounded by all the women at the event, who sang and danced and raise the level of excitement until the arrival of the groom to bless the bride and cover her with the vail. The ceremony was conducted at the sunset, warm back-light that swept Einat’s veil added amazing ambience. To have a wedding during the war is not something simple, but the words Matan chose to say during the ceremony gave a sense of serenity.
